Batumi 3 day tour
Batumi is the seaside region of Georgia and one of the most popular summer destination for visitors and also locals. We suggest taking at least 3 days in Batumi in order to be able to cover main points and extend holiday to beach vacation as per your preferences.
For the day one we suggest to take a short city tour of Batumi, the central area is pretty small and does not take long to cover. Piazza square is the start point of the tour, then we move to Church of St. Nicholas. Next stop is Europe square and statue of Medea. From here we go to drama theater of Batumi. Afterwards group visits dancing fountain and walk down to boulevard. Then we visit moving statue of Ali & Nino and Batumi port. Later on the same day it’s a good idea to take a walk in Batumi Botanical Garden, located at the distance of 9 km from the center of Batumi, being spread to the height of 0-220 meters from the sea level, which not long time ago was totally covered with Kolkheti type forest (beech, chestnut, linden) and evergreen sub-forest. The garden is distinguished by century-long parks, unique collections of subtropical flora, as well as succulents, palms, roses, camellias, citrus, bamboos, magnolia, Cyprus, pine-trees, nut, persimmon and maple tree collections.
Next day we suggest to take morning beach break and later in the morning visit Mtsvane Kontskhi and enjoy the beautifull views from the place and get some free time to swim in one of the purest beaches of Batumi.
Later in the afternoon after lunch we may visit Makhuntseti Waterwall, Keda region, which is around half an hour drive to the inner mountains from Batumi and eventually you get to see a 40 meters long waterfall in the mountains of Adjara.
Stone Arch Bridge of Makhuntseti is a 14th century bridge and is located very close to the waterfall. The bridge is large and relies on natural rock piers. For its construction, stone of volcanic origin on a mortar was used. The bridge was completely reconstructed in 2008.
On the third day of your visit village Mirveti may be planned to visit , located at an altitude of 60 meters above sea level. Mirveti is one of the most beautiful villages in Adjara, with cozy, green Chorokhi shores. In the village you will meet the endangered Colchis boxwood alley, which is included in the Red Book. Mirveti waterfall, located in a valley covered with boxwood trees, runs from a height of 20 meters. In order to reach the waterfall you need to cross the hanged bridge and walk through the village.
Adjara mountain also hosts many newly developed glamping sights which are built deep inside Adjara mountains surrounded with the marvelous nature.
Batumi also hosts many festivals during summer time, starting from pop music finished with a very high quality jazz festival.
