Batumi Bliss: Seaside Wonders and Mountain Marvels Tour

Batumi is a seaside region of Georgia and one of the most popular summer destinations for both visitors and locals. We suggest spending at least 3 days in Batumi to cover the main points and extend your holiday to a beach vacation according to your preferences.

For the first day, we recommend taking a short city tour of Batumi. The central area is relatively small and won't take long to cover. The tour starts at Piazza Square, then moves to the Church of St. Nicholas. The next stops include Europe Square and the statue of Medea. Afterward, proceed to the Batumi Drama Theater. Following that, the group can visit the dancing fountain and take a stroll down the boulevard. Then, visit the moving statues of Ali & Nino and Batumi Port. Later in the same day, consider taking a walk in the Batumi Botanical Garden, located 9 km from the center of Batumi. The garden, recently covered with Kolkheti-type forest (beech, chestnut, and linden) and evergreen sub-forest, features century-old parks and unique collections of subtropical flora, including succulents, palms, roses, camellias, citrus, bamboos, magnolias, cypresses, pine trees, nuts, persimmons, and maples.

For the next day, we recommend starting with a morning beach break. Later in the morning, visit Mtsvane Kontskhi to enjoy the beautiful views and have some free time to swim on one of Batumi's purest beaches. In the afternoon, after lunch, you can visit Makhuntseti Waterfall in the Keda region, around half an hour's drive to the inner mountains from Batumi. Here, you'll witness a 40-meter-long waterfall in the mountains of Adjara. The Stone Arch Bridge of Makhuntseti, dating back to the 14th century, is located very close to the waterfall. The bridge, large and relying on natural rock piers, was completely reconstructed in 2008.

On the third day of your visit, plan to explore the village of Mirveti, located at an altitude of 60 meters above sea level. Mirveti is one of the most beautiful villages in Adjara, with cozy, green Chorokhi shores. In the village, you will encounter the endangered Colchis boxwood alley, included in the Red Book. The Mirveti waterfall, situated in a valley covered with boxwood trees, cascades from a height of 20 meters. To reach the waterfall, cross the hanging bridge and walk through the village.

The Adjara mountain region also hosts many newly developed glamping sites built deep inside the mountains, surrounded by marvelous nature.

Batumi also hosts numerous festivals during the summer, ranging from pop music to high-quality jazz festivals.
